Hubble Ultra Deep Field
In 2004 the Hubble Space Telescope took 800 exposures amounting to around 11.3 days of viewing time. The result was the Hubble Ultra Deep Field which revealed the first galaxies to emerge shortly after the big bang.

The image is covers about 11 square arcminutes and shows roughly 10 000 galaxies of different shapes and sizes. That's 10 000 galaxies in an area 1/10th the size of the full moon!
